If you look below this text you should see a grey box. This is the Java applet which, when loaded, will be the actual chat facility. Because of the nature of Java applets, it may take a while to download to your computer. Please be patient because, hopefully, it will be worth your wait.
It goes without saying that anyone using this facility should control their language and treat the chat room like you would treat your own dojo. This is so that you don't run a risk of offending anyone by accident and for the fact that you don't always know quite how old the person you are speaking to is!
Anyone that has tried to use a chat room before will realise that you often find yourself on your own. For this reason I have set up a couple of times for chat purposes. On the Sunday I will be in the room for at least 15 minutes from the time indicated to give people a chance to log on. The Thursday will hopefully become used when more people find out about this facility. If you want to set up your own private chat, the room will obviously be open at all times.
