The News on this noticeboard will often be exactly the same as on the newsletters that are given out in lessons. It is also possible, however, that an event might only be announced verbally in just one lesson. I will make every effort to make sure that all the news is put on this page.
Each line break on this page will be followed by a date underneath it. This date signifies either the date that the news was put onto the page or when the news was given out in class.

Dan Grading and Free Sensei Enoeda Training
All members of the KUGB are entitled to attend a free training session with Sensei K Enoeda (8th Dan) this Saturday 17th March. A black belt grading (for 1st and 2nd Dan grades) will also take place. Remember to take your licence!
Uni Trophies at North West Open and Central Regions
Over the last couple of weekends Tim (Lancaster University) and Tom (at Cambridge University) have come home with some trophies! Tim managed to pick up fourth place in Team Kata at the North West Open as well as 2nd in Male Individual Kata. Tom took first place in Team Kata at the Central Regions with anther strong Cambridge team. Congratulations to both!
Cancelation of a training session
Due to the Backwell Parish Hall being unavailable on Friday 22nd October training is currently cancelled...unless an alternate venue can be found! We'll try and keep you posted.
Congratulations to Our Kyu Grade members!
Just a quick congratulations to the kyu grades who undertook a grading last weekend. We look forward to seeing you all progress through the ranks and become black belts before long!
July Training
We are unable to train at Backwell Parish Hall on all Fridays and Sundays during the month of July. Because of this, different venues have been found for training over the next month. Fridays lesson will be held at Cleeve Village Hall (the same place as Tuesdays) and Sunday training will be held at Backwell Leisure Centre. Training times will be the same as always.
Training Cancelled
Training will be cancelled on Sunday 13th June. Everything will be back to normal after this date but we are still looking for more people to train on a Sunday to keep it running regularly. If you can make it then please think about coming to an extra lesson a week.
Black Belt Success!
After coming third in the intermediate kata at the Central regions whilst at university Tom Culverhouse has now passed his black belt grading! Well done to Tom from all the club! We knew you were black belt standard before and now you have the piece of paper to prove it!
